Translating immersive experiences into language

Selected project

flora&faunavisions creates immersive experiences at the intersection of art, design and technology. As Editorial & Marketing Lead, my role was to find the language around this work: translating complex creative concepts into communications that could move between audiences, formats and contexts without losing their meaning.

Working across several projects simultaneously meant moving constantly between scales: understanding both the conceptual and technical language of an installation, finding its clearest narrative, and adapting that narrative for press, web, social and broader audiences.

The Brief:

Communicate three technologically complex immersive experiences, each built around the broader concept of circularity, to a diverse international audience across web, newsletters and social over a four-month campaign.

The Approach:

Circularity can quickly become abstract and overly broad. My approach was to continuously bring the concept back to the audience experience – what would they encounter, how would they participate and what would each immersive room ask them to consider?

I developed a narrative that could move between the conceptual and the experiential, then adapted it across formats as the pavilion moved from anticipation to opening – focusing on individual rooms and the pavilion at large.

ROOM 1: CIRCULAR LIVING

Designing the future collectively.

What happens when we ask visitors to co-design the city of the future, using nothing but their instincts?

Circular Living is an experiment in democracy, desire, and digital dreaming.

Of course, the cities of our future will prioritise sustainability and resource efficiency, but there’s more to it than that. We must also build our cities to be socially inclusive and economically resilient.

Your choices become part of a collective vision, shaped by our state of the art Dream Machine. This talented piece of technology turns every visit into a one-of-a-kind exploration of future urban life, trained by us to generate visual worlds that expand familiar urban spaces with visionary elements.

The result? A city panorama built not by governments or developers, but by visitors like you. This isn't just about what the future looks like - it's about what matters most when you're asked to choose.

ROOM 2: CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Turning individual ideas into a collective vision of the future.

A universe in which everything is designed to begin again.

Designed in collaboration with factsandfiction, our second immersive space showcases products already making circular living a reality in Germany. From disassembly to reassembly, every ingredient can feed back into its raw materials to become something new once more. This is the essence of a true circular economy.

This aquatic-inspired room dissolves boundaries with floating visuals reflecting onto a central touch table, creating an infinite, immersive aesthetic to echo its theme; from spatial styling to the digital visual language, interaction to programming and seamless content management.

Circular Economy invites you into this ever-growing cloud of wisdom, showing how circularity can shape our everyday lives.

ROOM 3: CIRCULAR ME

Understanding individual agency.

How can you contribute to a circular future?

For the final immersive room at Expo 2025 Osaka’s German Pavilion – Circular Me, created with factsandfiction – we invite visitors to reflect on this simple but profound question.

After exploring future cityscapes and circular products, visitors arrive at Circular Me – a space that invites to pause, reflect, and take action. Here, guests create their own customised Circular avatars that join a growing digital universe, visualising collective responsibility and potential.

At the heart of the space, a rotating circular platform invites visitors to sit, look up, and immerse themselves in a 360° audiovisual experience we developed – combining sound, light, and motion to raise the urgent questions of our time. But not to overwhelm – to inspire. Circular Me is a space that shifts perspective, sparking individual agency and pointing toward a more sustainable, shared future.
